Mrs. Sexton’s 3^rd grade

         Welcome to 3^rd grade!  My name is Robin Sexton and I will be Your child’s 3^rd grade teacher.  This year will be a   challenging And rewarding year for your child.  We will learn our multiplication facts, division, cursive writing, and many other new and fascinating facts from our Science and Social Studies books.  I love to read and hopefully will instill a lifelong love of reading in your child while they are in my care this year.  I want to thank you ahead of time for playing an active role in your child’s academic success.  Please read with your child every night from their assigned story in their reading book.  Listen to them read and question them after they have read to you.  Ask them what they do in school each day.  You will be surprised at how much we accomplish in one school day!  Below is a schedule of our busy day.

11:25-11:35    Bathroom

11:35-11:50    Read aloud time

11:50-12:35    English

12:35-1:05      Recess

 2:10-2:40       Social Studies/Science

 2:45                Dismiss for Pick ups

       As you can see by our full schedule, it is extremely important for your child to be at school on time each day.  Many of our activities are “hands on” and I don’t want anyone to miss out!  I will send home a stapled packet of graded papers each Friday.  These will be the grades that I have recorded for the week.  I will have a cover sheet attached that will need to be signed and returned on Monday.  This is a great way for me to know that you are aware of your child’s grades and daily behavior.  I will also use this sheet as a way to communicate with you about what we are doing in the classroom.  Please feel free to write any notes back to me with any questions or concerns.  I am also available for phone calls during my planning period from 1:10-1:55.  (663-2520)
