Hello! Welcome to my web site! I am glad you came to visit. My name is Fayetta Litton- Terry and I love teaching! This is my eighth year of teaching Pre-Kindergarten. I taught third grade also at Huntsville Elementary School for ten years. I graduated in 1994 from Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. My educational emphasis was in English. I received my Associate Degree from Roane State College in Harriman, Tennessee.
I believe that all children have the ability to learn. Children are unique! Each individual child should be given the opportunity to learn in ways that are easiest for them. My belief, as an educator, parent, grandparent and great-grandparent is that children learn best when they feel safe, happy, and secure. I want to create that environment, along with high expectations, and a well-rounded curriculum for my classroom. I want each of my students to have a positive self-image, enjoy learning, learn a variety of things and be ready for their early educational classes with high expectations.
There are a lot of exciting things going on in my class this year! We are learning many new things, creating interesting projects, conducting experiments, and participating in many new and exciting activities. Please continue on your journey through this website to find out all about it.
My Philosophy of Education
I believe all children are capable of learning. My goals are to strive to identify each child’s learning style, and if possible try to individualize their learning, motivate their educational response and inspire their academic best.
Teachers need to become healthy eclectic who can comfortably use a number of teaching styles in order to meet learner’s needs within an inviting and inspiring environment. Today’s teachers must be flexible and use different types of teaching styles to encourage divergent and convergent thinking
Teachers must instill good management techniques in order to advance the students to higher order skills. Teachers need to use organization, with-it-ness, assessment and reflections. The teacher is the key to a successful education for her students.
Thanks for visiting the Volunteer Pre-Kindergarten classroom and e-mail us your comments and ideas.
Thanks, Mrs. Fayetta
I want to live this life on earth, to face its struggles and its strife and to improve their worth, not just the lessons in a book or how the rivers flow, but how to choose the proper path, where ever they may go. To understand eternal truth and know the right from wrong and gather all the beauty of a flower and a song for if I help the world to grow in wisdom and in grace then I shall feel that I have won and I have filled my place. And so I ask your guidance, God that I may do my part for character and confidence and happiness of heart.
